Deer Hunting
We now have recently increased out hunting land from 2800 acres to nearly 7000 acres
of private & posted land. Consisting of sixteen separate working farms that are not ajoined. One of
these farms holds the record of having the second biggest deer ever shot in the county. You
will be assigned an individual piece of land that is yours exclusively. No one else will
be allowed to hunt in your allocated area while you are there.
The land is crop land with woods and swamps. Proving excellent cover for the deer
herd. There is a lot of cedar on the land providing good winter feed and cover.
A good share of the deer are taken as they travel to and from the corn and arable
fields. The last three years our hunters have enjoyed at least a 98% shot opportunity.
About 75% took deer home with them.
In many case we are able to supply a permit to take a doe. This varies from year
to year depending on the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
We give the permits out on a first come first serve basis.
We offer guided, semi-guided or do-it-yourself hunts. The land not fenced, this is
total a fair chance hunt. In an area that has one of the highest deer populations
in the state. We offer Bow hunting begining in October, muzzle loaded and riffle
hunting. The Dates vary from year to year but usual end about December 10th -12th.
Riffles are permitted and recommended in the area.
We have excellent genetic stocks, many "trophy quality" bucks have been taken
but they are not easy to get. They are usually taken by the very lucky or by
the experts.
We charge per day, with a three day minimum to hunt on the land.
Lodge is available, the cabins you see in the pictures can take up to four persons per cabin(Three day minimum).
Turkey Hunting
Turkey hunting is available (details will be added soon)
Geese and Duck Hunting
Geese by the thousands, we are located on the St Lawrence River, one of the major flyways
for canadian geese. They stop to rest and feed by the thousands, the local bays are
loaded with them, both in the spring and in the fall. The hunting can be truly
spectacular. They leave the water in flocks of 2 or 3 hundred going into the fields
to feed. Sometimes these fields will hold several thousand geese. We have hunting
rights to many of these fields (over 5000 acres) and enough decoys to get them to come in.
Prior to hunting we follow the flocks inland to the fields, then after they leave
decoys are placed and blinds set up for the following day ensuring you the best
opportunity to maximise your chances. After the
morning hunt we move to the bays and the water blinds for another good shoot at
the returning birds. Our hunts are fully guided, we furnish the blinds, decoys,
boats and everything needed for a hunt.
Lodging is available at our site provided we are not full with fishermen or Deer hunters. See the pictures in the Gallery, these show our facility, grounds and cabins.
Duck Hunting is available but we dont have the numbers of ducks as there are geese. The season is a the same time so its not hard to do both.
Fox & Coyote Hunting
Fox and Coyote hunting is carried out throughout the winter, we breed and train our own dogs for the hunt. (further details will be added soon).
Spoting & photography
Joe is always out checking to see what about particularly prior to a hunt so that
he knows the best places to locate you. His latest purchase was a digital camera
so that you can see what he has seen on his rounds. Many of these pictures can
be seen on the gallery, clicking on any picture (including the pics on this page)
will display the whole photograph that Joe has taken.
